The range runs to several hundred pieces: farm and forest animals, dinosaurs, knights and kings, trees, fences and other scenery. They are sized for small hands and stand up on their own.
Materials and method
The figures are cut from solid maple and beech. Each one is sawn out, then the edges are rounded and sanded by hand to a satin finish before painting.
The paint is water-based and applied by hand, thin enough that the grain of the wood still shows through the colour. A water-based lacquer seals the piece against saliva and handling. Because every figure is painted individually, small variations between two of the same animal are normal.
